Arlington Valley Farms has partnered with OhioMeansJobs Summit County’s Business Services team to secure On-the-Job-Training plans for Machine Operator employees. We have found the staff at OMJSC to be timely and professional in explaining the OJT program, creating the contracts, orienting the new hires on expectations regarding the program and following up with management and new hires after training has begun. Arlington Valley Farms appreciates the opportunity and plans to continue this partnership.

The key element of the On-the-Job Training Program is the training of a new employee with minimal experience in new job skills to fill an open position. The program allowed us to train our new employee to grow into the role while meeting our company specific needs and utilizing our specific software systems while working and earning the benefits of a full time employee. We plan to continue growing our business with the aid of OhioMeansJobs Summit County and their programs.

This program has enabled our start‐up company to employ individuals who did not have the skill set to be immediately effective in their roles and spend more time intensively training them with the skills needed to be successful long‐term. The support from OhioMeansJobs Summit County’s On-the-Job Training Program to offset the cost of that training, and the support of the staff through the application process, really helped!
