I would encourage everyone to attend the employment workshop. I had been out of the job searching scene for over 28 years, and there was so much to learn. Because of the tools and information given during the workshop, I learned how to write a resume and conduct an interview that landed me a great job.
The mock interviews were game changing for me. The roleplays we did really helped me with the many interviews I did have. Just suggesting questions they may ask and offering thoughts on how to answer them. The feedback was so valuable.
I had a general idea of what to do (update the resume, start looking online), but with OhioMeansJobs Summit County's help, I was able to sharpen my resume, prepare for interviews, and get my confidence back to where it was before. I knew I had the skills. I just needed to get that information out to the right employer. And with their help, I did.
I found support and encouragement here at OhioMeansJobs. There are workshops and classes available to help get your resume in order, your networking rolling, and keep you on track towards your goal of employment. The most valuable time spent is working on yourself. During these times of uncertainty, they were my light in the tunnel. I honestly stand by them and encourage others to take the help they offer. The only thing it costs is your time and effort.
As a father and family man, when I was unexpectedly separated from my career of almost 10 years, I was truly devastated. I worked on my resume and took workshops to understand more about the skill set that I had built. It was the guidance I needed to flush out and hone down my experiences into a beautifully marketable package that helped to secure some really great job offers. I would highly recommend this place for people who are in need, as the guidance here is invaluable.
Thanks to OMJ I am in a much better position to take care of my sons and family. Before OMJ, I wasn’t sure where I was going to be working or what to even look forward to in the near future, but with your help I now have a career to depend on and am very grateful for the opportunity!
The old days and ways are gone in terms of looking for a job! These classed provide me with the most relevant and absolutely needed information for a successful job search. I had no idea that human eyes did not even look at my resume until it had been run through a software program to pick the “best” candidates for a position. I learned how to almost guarantee that my new resume would make it though the first computer round of screening and into HR’s hands. There is a lot of very useful information that comes from this class to assist in your job search. I finished the course with a positive feeling about looking for a job and confident I would get the interviews needed to secure employment. The stress and dread of looking for a job was gone…what a relief!
Last year when I was furloughed and then laid off due to COVID, I wasn't sure where to even begin looking for a new job. I was recommended to work with OMJ for a position that fit well with my skills and was for people in my situation. I'm grateful for all that OMJ has been able to do to help my family and I keep some peace of mind.
The coolest feature that is offered by OhioMeansJobs Summit & Medina Counties is their video interviewing tool. I was able to record myself answering real interview questions and then send it for feedback, which was helpful. In fact, the other day I was talking about the tool with another job seeker. I would recommend anyone looking to transition into a new field or simply need job search support to reach out to OhioMeansJobs Summit and Medina Counties.
I have an awesome career coordinator that has been really helpful with following up and providing support to me in a timely manner. My career coordinator assisted me with a mock interview that was really helpful. OhioMeansJobs Summit County has a really great program and always has someone available to provide assistance and encouragement as well!
With OMJ Summit County guidance, we revised my resume, discussed opportunities, and I attended workshops, including The Executive Network Group. After six grueling months, I landed a new position! Thanks to the Talent Developer for your support and perseverance. OhioMeans...JOBS well done.
My instructor's confidence, experience, knowledge, examples, clear speaking, positivity, willingness to answer all questions, and control of the class flow are to his credit. The two hour rule, explanation of the inner workings of ATSs, and ‘filling in the blanks’, among all the other good information, answered so many of my questions and inserted so many missing links. I am glad to have some hope return to my job search and will do my best to follow all his suggestions. My hour drive down? Well worth it.
I went to OhioMeansJobs Summit County. The people there were understanding, patient, kind and willing to help me. I didn’t have a computer at that time so I was able to use their resource room to work on my resume. Going through workshops gave me a lot of information that I learned and applied to looking for a job. Which gave me a confidence that I needed to start looking for a job. I am very thankful for the help OhioMeansJobs Summit County taught me to grow and be confidant in looking for and finding a job.
OhioMeansJobs Summit County was extremely helpful to me during my job search! The job search process has changed a lot since the last time I was looking for employment (20 years ago) I received lots of coaching, training and support while I navigated new territory. I’m grateful for the services and the people that helped me along the way.
