Explore Careers in the Electrical Trades

OOD’s NEO region will be hosting an In-Demand Jobs Week event at the Akron Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Training Center (IBEW Local 306) on May 7, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This event may be especially beneficial for 11th- and 12th-grade students interested in skilled trades careers, including electrical, construction, manufacturing, utilities, telecommunications, and advanced manufacturing pathways. The session will help juniors better understand how to prepare for the apprenticeship process during their senior year, while graduating seniors can learn more about beginning the application process, which generally takes 2 to 3 months to complete.
